“Discover the hidden gems of winter produce and support local farmers year-round with Winter Market Share – a delightful way to embrace seasonal flavors while sustaining our agricultural community.”
With a fresh blanket of snow across the Front Range, we’ve turned our thoughts to the winter season. While our farmers markets will continue to run through Nov. 18, there remains a delicious array of local produce, hearty meats and exciting food products to enjoy during these cold winter months.
If you’re looking for a new culinary adventure this winter, now is the time to purchase a Winter Market Share from Boulder County Farmers Markets. For just $50 per week, you’ll get to enjoy curated groceries hand-selected by our team of local food enthusiasts that will help break you out of your recipe rut while supporting local farms and businesses.
Think of it as a farmers market sampler, where instead of picking food up from one farm each week, you’ll receive a wide variety of produce, protein and packaged goods from your favorite local producers. Each share will include fresh produce from Colorado farmers. Think of foods that can be grown indoors year-round, like microgreens and mushrooms, plus storage crops like potatoes, winter squash, onions, and garlic.
Every customer can choose between meat-friendly or vegetarian protein options. Meat-eaters can expect a variety of lamb, beef and pork from Colorado ranches, and vegetarians get to try a variety of tempeh-based products from Project Umami, Colorado-grown beans and local quinoa.
Last but not least, we’ll throw in packaged goods — like Pastificio pasta and Silver Canyon Coffee — to add a little oomph to your weekly meal plan.
Winter Market Shares will be available for eight weeks starting the week of Nov. 27 and ending the week of Jan. 29, with a two-week pause the weeks of Dec. 18 and 25 for the holidays. Winter Market Share customers can pick up their orders each week at Boulder County Farmers Markets curbside pickup locations in Boulder, Lafayette and Longmont:
– Boulder customers can pick up their shares from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays at the Boulder Public Library.
– Lafayette customers can pick up their shares from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Thursdays at East Simpson Street and Michigan Avenue.
– For Longmont customers, pick-up will be available from 11 a.m. to noon Sundays at the Boulder County Farmers Market Warehouse from Dec. 3 through 17. In the New Year, distributions for Longmont Market Share pick-ups will switch to 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursdays at the Boulder County Farmers Markets Warehouse through the remainder of the distributions, which end Feb. 1.
