“Junior Achievement gears up to test young minds and foster financial literacy with its highly anticipated 5th Annual Stock Market Challenge”
Junior Achievement of the Greater Tyler Area will be hosting its annual Stock Market Challenge this year. The event will take place at Tyler Junior College in the Apache Rooms. The morning session will be attended by approximately 300 high school students, while the evening session will have nearly 125 adults participating.
Established in 1919, Junior Achievement aims to educate and inspire young people to understand business, economics, and the value of free enterprise. It is the largest and fastest-growing nonprofit economic education organization worldwide. Through relevant, hands-on experiences, Junior Achievement equips students with knowledge and skills in financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship.
The programs are taught by volunteers from the business community across America and in over 103 countries. With the help of these volunteers and funders, Junior Achievement of Tyler plans to reach over 6,000 local students during the upcoming school year. Since its inception in 1988, Junior Achievement of Tyler has already served more than 133,400 students.
The Stock Market Challenge is an exciting event that replicates the energy and excitement of a real stock trading floor. Teams of four will compete to accumulate the highest portfolio while learning about investing, trading, and strategy. Each team will have $1,000,000 in fictitious trading dollars to buy and sell stocks.
The Stock Market Challenge promises to be a thrilling and educational experience for all participants. It provides a unique opportunity for students and adults alike to gain insights into the world of finance and investment.
