The minister actively engaged with students and faculty, underscoring the state government’s commitment to improving farmers’ livelihoods under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership. Notably, he highlighted the increase in pulses production from 24 lakh to 32.5 lakh metric tons in Uttar Pradesh.
Shahi also emphasized the need to boost wheat productivity, setting an ambitious target of increasing output from 39 to 45 quintals per hectare. He encouraged agricultural scientists to focus on innovative farming strategies to help farmers increase production and income. Additionally, he mentioned that eight projects worth ₹10 crore have been approved for SHUATS, reinforcing the state’s investment in agricultural development.
The minister concluded by urging the university to provide essential technical support to the farming community, aligned with the national vision of transforming research into practical solutions for land use.
This new initiative at SHUATS marks a significant step forward in promoting sustainable agricultural practices and supporting local farmers in Uttar Pradesh.
