Tamil Nadu is set to launch two new mini TIDEL parks in Salem and Thanjavur, both inaugurated by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. The Salem park, costing around ₹29.50 crore, and the Thanjavur park, at ₹30.50 crore, will each support 500 IT professionals. These parks come equipped with essential facilities like high-speed internet, backup power, dining spaces, and 24/7 security. The initiative aims to promote IT growth in smaller cities, as part of the state’s goal for distributed economic development. The first mini TIDEL park opened in Villupuram earlier this year, with several more planned across Tamil Nadu, reflecting the state’s commitment to enhance its IT infrastructure and boost local economies.
Tamil Nadu is gearing up to inaugurate two new mini TIDEL parks, set to be opened by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. These parks, located in Thanjavur and Salem, reflect the state’s commitment to expanding its IT infrastructure in secondary cities. The mini TIDEL park in Thanjavur, costing around ₹30.50 crore, will cover 55,000 square feet across three floors, while the Salem facility was built for approximately ₹29.50 crore.
Each park is designed to support 500 Information Technology professionals and comes with a variety of amenities, including air-conditioned rooms, high-speed internet, reliable power supply, and enhanced security measures. This initiative aims to promote economic growth outside of major urban centers, with T.R.B. Rajaa, the Minister for Industries, emphasizing its role in achieving a $1-trillion economy.
Interestingly, a co-working firm named Namma Office has already secured space in the Salem mini TIDEL park, highlighting the growing demand for IT spaces in smaller towns. With this development, the state moves closer to its goals of broadening its IT sector and creating opportunities for local talent.
The first mini TIDEL park was launched in Villupuram earlier this year, and plans are underway for additional parks in Thoothukudi and Vellore in the coming months.
This strategic expansion of IT facilities showcases Tamil Nadu’s ongoing efforts to nurture technological growth throughout the region, ensuring that even smaller cities can benefit from the digital revolution.
