On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi. During their meeting, they signed four important agreements aimed at strengthening their partnership in the energy sector.

Among these agreements, one is a long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply deal between the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. Another agreement focuses on collaboration between ADNOC and the India Strategic Petroleum Reserve Ltd. Additionally, the Emirates Nuclear Energy Company (ENEC) and Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL) formalized an understanding regarding the operation and maintenance of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant.

A noteworthy production concession agreement for Abu Dhabi Onshore Block 1 was also signed between Urja Bharat and ADNOC. In a separate development, the Gujarat government entered into a pact with Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company PJSC to establish food parks in India.

The talks were comprehensive, covering various aspects of the India-UAE relationship, with a focus on expanding the strategic partnership to address new and emerging opportunities. Both leaders also discussed pressing global issues, including the situation in Gaza.

Crown Prince Al Nahyan took time to honor India’s legacy by visiting Rajghat to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. He will continue his visit with a trip to Mumbai, where he will participate in the India-UAE Business Forum and mark the soft launch of the India-UAE virtual trade corridor.

These agreements and discussions underline the commitment of both nations to deepen their cooperation and explore new ventures that benefit both India and the UAE.
