PM Modi emphasized the importance of women’s empowerment in the development journey of Odisha, stating that a significant portion of progress stems from the contributions of half the population—women. He also noted that the scheme would integrate with the Reserve Bank of India’s digital currency pilot project, allowing women to spend their grants digitally.
In addition to the Subhadra Scheme, PM Modi inaugurated railway projects worth over ₹2,800 crores to enhance Odisha’s infrastructure and connectivity. He also laid the foundation for National Highway projects amounting to more than ₹1,000 crores.
