Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde recently held a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other key leaders in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, focusing on seat-sharing for the upcoming state assembly elections expected in November. Shinde described the discussions as “positive,” stating that decisions would be made soon and that collaboration is progressing smoothly among the ruling coalition partners, which includes the Shiv Sena, BJP, and NCP led by Ajit Pawar. The meeting, which ended around 12:30 am, underscores the coalition’s strategic approach to ticket distribution, with an emphasis on winnability in the elections.

In a significant political meeting in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Union Home Minister Amit Shah discussed key matters regarding seat-sharing for the upcoming Maharashtra assembly polls. Joined by Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, the leadership aims to finalize their strategy as elections loom on the horizon.

After the meeting late Tuesday night, CM Shinde described the discussions as “positive,” suggesting that progress is being made in coordinating seat allocations among the ruling alliance members, which includes the Shiv Sena (led by Shinde), the BJP, and the Ajit Pawar-led NCP. Shinde mentioned that decisions on sharing seats will be announced soon, emphasizing that cooperative dialogue is ongoing.

Amit Shah’s visit marks a critical phase in preparing for the assembly elections expected in November. Recently, Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule indicated that the Mahayuti alliance could contest 70 to 80 percent of the total 288 assembly seats, primarily selecting candidates based on their chances of winning.

This meeting’s outcomes could greatly influence the political landscape in Maharashtra, particularly with the BJP currently holding 103 seats, followed closely by the Shiv Sena and NCP with 40 seats each. The assembly’s composition reveals a competitive environment, with the remaining seats shared among various parties.

As all eyes remain on the decisions stemming from this meeting, it is clear that the ruling coalition is keen on solidifying its strategy for success this election season.
