On September 26, 2024, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal led a strong attack against the BJP during a special session of the Delhi Assembly. He accused the party of hindering key government projects while he was incarcerated, including road repairs and senior citizen benefits. With a recent Supreme Court bail in a corruption case, Kejriwal expressed his commitment to revive stalled initiatives, declaring, “Your son is back.” Despite his previous resignation, he emphasized the need for immediate action on road conditions after inspecting areas near Delhi University. In response, Delhi BJP leader Virendra Sachdeva criticized Kejriwal for not resigning when he faced legal trouble, claiming it hampered development efforts.

Title: Arvind Kejriwal Returns to Delhi Assembly, Vows to Restart Development Projects

Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal made a strong comeback in the Delhi Assembly on Thursday following his recent bail in a corruption case. During a special two-day session, he criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for hindering various development initiatives while he was in prison. Kejriwal spoke passionately for 18 minutes, asserting that he would revive stalled projects such as road repairs and the free pilgrimage scheme for senior citizens.

Kejriwal expressed to the people of Delhi, “Your son is back,” and promised to restart all the works that the BJP had stalled. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader had previously announced his resignation as Chief Minister on September 17, stating he would return only after regaining the public’s trust in the upcoming Assembly elections expected in February.

In a notable change, Kejriwal has been moved from seat number one to seat number 41, while current Chief Minister Atishi now occupies the prominent position. Earlier in the day, Kejriwal inspected the poor condition of roads near Delhi University and urged the Chief Minister to take immediate action for repairs.

Responding to Kejriwal’s remarks, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva criticized him for not resigning while in jail, suggesting it was his inaction that led to delays in development work.
