BJP leader Dilip Ghosh has accused the ruling TMC government of attempting to silence the family of a victim who was raped and murdered at RG Kar Medical College & Hospital. Ghosh claimed that the government tried to bribe the victim’s parents with 10 lakh rupees to keep them quiet, a claim commendably refused by the family. The BJP has been actively protesting this incident, demanding justice and the resignation of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her administration’s handling of the case, which they allege is being covered up. The party continues to hold demonstrations across West Bengal, highlighting ongoing concerns about women’s safety in the state.

BJP Leader Accuses TMC of Trying to Silence RG Kar Victim’s Family

In a recent statement, Dilip Ghosh, a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), criticized the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government for its handling of a distressing case involving the rape and murder of a student at RG Kar Medical College & Hospital. Ghosh accused the TMC of attempting to bribe the victim’s family to prevent them from speaking out.

Ghosh emphasized that the TMC and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee are allegedly trying to stifle the voices of those affected by offering money, stating, “They want to buy everyone… If rape happens, someone bribes them.” He applauded the victim’s family for reportedly refusing the bribe, highlighting their courage in seeking justice.

On the previous day, BJP supporters protested outside the DC North office, demanding accountability from the TMC government. Leaders like Locket Chatterjee questioned the government’s commitment to women’s safety, pointing out that while other political parties are allowed to demonstrate, the BJP is being restricted.

In response to the crime, the BJP has organized various protests across West Bengal, condemning the state government’s inaction. Sukanto Majumdar, BJP’s state leader, led demonstrations in Jagatballavpur, calling for Mamata Banerjee’s resignation due to the alleged cover-up of this heinous crime.

As the pressure mounts on the TMC government, the BJP vows to continue its protests in every district until justice is served for the victim.
