El Salvador to Introduce Bitcoin Education in Schools by 2024
El Salvador’s Ministry of Education has partnered with the non-profit organization, Mi Primer Bitcoin (MPB), to incorporate Bitcoin education into the public school curriculum by 2024.
Partnership with MPB and Bitcoin Beach
John Dennehy, the founder of MPB, stated that this initiative is led by the Ministry of Education, with MPB and Bitcoin Beach providing essential support.
The group aims to create a sustainable Bitcoin economic ecosystem on the coast of El Salvador.
Curriculum and Training
The curriculum will primarily utilize content from MPB’s program, which awards students a diploma upon completion.
Training for the pilot program will begin on Sep. 7 with assistance from Bitcoin Beach.
Initially, 150 public school teachers from 75 schools will receive foundational training on Bitcoin.
Expansion and Future Plans
After the initial training, these educators will disseminate the Bitcoin curriculum in their respective institutions.
If the program proves successful, it could be implemented across all schools in the nation by the following year.
