X, formerly known as Twitter, is changing its block feature, allowing blocked users to see public posts from their blockers. This means that while blocked individuals won’t be able to interact with the content or view the account’s private details, they can still see the posts. Elon Musk commented that the current block function was not effective and suggested a shift toward a more robust mute option. This update appears to aim at enhancing advertisement visibility as well. Additionally, X previously announced that only premium subscribers would have the ability to livestream on the platform. The rebranding to X took place in July 2023 after Musk became CEO.

X (formerly known as Twitter) is making big changes to its block feature. From now on, all public posts will be visible to everyone on the platform, including users who have been blocked. This means that even if you block someone, they will still be able to see your public posts.

Elon Musk, the owner of X, explained that while the block function will stop a blocked person from engaging with your content, it won’t hide your posts from them. If someone tries to visit a profile of a user who has blocked them, they will see a message that says, “You’re blocked” and won’t be able to view details like who follows that account or its replies.

This change comes in response to feedback that users can already view blocked posts by using another account or logging out. Musk mentioned before that the block feature “makes no sense” and suggested it may be replaced with a stronger mute option. The idea here is that blocked users will see the posts but won’t be able to interact with them, potentially increasing ad visibility as well.

Additionally, X previously announced that only subscribers to its premium service would be able to livestream on the platform.

Since rebranding from Twitter to X in July 2023 after Musk took over as CEO, the platform has undergone several significant changes.

Stay tuned for more updates on how X continues to evolve with these new features.
