The Congress leader also attempted to meet with the junior doctors at the RG Kar Medical College but was stopped by the police. He argued that if the police had acted more decisively earlier, the tragic incident could have been prevented. Currently, one civic volunteer from the Kolkata Police has been arrested in connection with the case, and the matter is now being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) following an order from the Calcutta High Court.
