The CJI also shared the strides made in digitization, reporting that in 2023-2024 alone, nearly 46.5 crore pages of court records have been scanned. He noted the success of the e-courts project, which has led to the computerization of thousands of courtrooms and allowed district courts to hear millions of cases via video conferencing.
Notably, CJI Chandrachud pointed out the increasing representation of women in the judiciary, with women making up over half of the recent civil judge recruitments in several states, such as Rajasthan and Delhi. As the conference progresses, President Droupadi Murmu is set to deliver the valedictory address on September 1, marking the end of this significant gathering.
