JSW MG Motor India is taking a bold step into the future by focusing on new energy vehicles (NEVs), moving away from conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) cars. Recently, the company launched its latest electric crossover utility vehicle, the MG Windsor, marking its first major move following investment from the JSW Group. Parth Jindal, the company’s Director, emphasized the transition to NEVs, which include strong hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and battery electric vehicles.

As part of its ambitious plans, JSW MG Motor aims to introduce a new vehicle every four to six months and hopes that more than 50% of its sales will come from electric vehicles in 2024. Currently, electric vehicles account for 35% of the company’s total sales, with sales of electric models increasing by 52% in the first half of this year.

The MG Windsor is set to start bookings on October 3, with deliveries expected to begin on October 12. Although the exact price has not been announced, it is estimated to cost around Rs 9.99 lakh, accompanied by a unique Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) offering, making it competitively priced compared to traditional manual engine SUVs. The vehicle is powered by a 38 kWh lithium-ion battery, offering a range of 331 kilometers on a single charge and quick charging capabilities.

In a notable strategy shift, Jindal mentioned that the company does not intend to focus on ICE vehicles in the future but may consider them if technology needs arise. The MG Windsor represents a significant leap for the company as it aligns with global trends prioritizing electric mobility.

For customers interested in evoking a sustainable change in their driving experience, the MG Windsor stands as a promising option.
