The Uttar Pradesh government is enhancing religious tourism in Ayodhya and Varanasi by introducing electricity-powered boat rides and adventure water activities. Four specialized electric boats will soon begin operations in both cities. In Ayodhya, one air-conditioned boat with 50 seats and two non-air-conditioned boats with 30 seats each will be launched on the Saryu River from Nayaghat. Varanasi will also feature a 50-seat air-conditioned boat at Ravidas Ghat on the Ganga River. The innovative boats will come with advanced hull designs for better performance and will operate under strict safety and environmental standards. Facilities for docking and charging these boats will be provided at the ghats, managed by the Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation.



The Uttar Pradesh government is launching exciting new electric boating options in the historic cities of Ayodhya and Varanasi to enhance religious tourism. According to a recent statement, four specialized electric boats will soon start operating in these iconic locations.

In Ayodhya, visitors can look forward to one air-conditioned electric boat with a capacity of 50 seats and two additional electric boats that can each carry 30 passengers. These will depart from Nayaghat on the Saryu River, offering a comfortable way to enjoy the scenic views. Meanwhile, in Varanasi, another 50-seater air-conditioned electric boat will be available for tourists at Ravidas Ghat on the Ganga River.

These modern boats feature a steel catamaran hull for the air-conditioned models and a FRP catamaran hull for the non-air-conditioned ones. To support this initiative, the ghats will be equipped with docking and charging facilities, managed by the Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation.

The boat services will operate under a ten-year lease and will strictly follow guidelines set by the Tourism department, the Inland Vessel Act, and international safety standards. Adventure enthusiasts can also expect that the operations will align with the guidelines of the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India.

With these new electric boats, both Ayodhya and Varanasi are set to offer visitors a unique and environmentally friendly way to explore their beautiful rivers.
