On Wednesday, Bank of America experienced significant online service disruptions, leaving many customers unable to access their accounts. Reports began surfacing around noon Eastern Time, with DownDetector noting that approximately 5,000 users had reported issues by 3 p.m. ET.
Customers expressed frustration on social media, with some unable to log in at all, while others who could access their accounts were alarmed to see their balances displayed as $0. One user on X (formerly Twitter) questioned, “Anyone else showing $0 in their Bank of America accounts currently?” Another customer described the incident as a “glitch” and suggested that the bank should compensate customers for the distress caused by the situation.
As of now, Bank of America has not issued an official statement regarding the outage. The situation remains fluid, and updates are expected as the bank addresses the issue.
