We recently experimented with MCPs over the weekend and created one that enables Claude, Cursor, and Windsurf to control your browser. This development is part of our project, Skyvern, an open-source AI agent that interacts with web pages using simple prompts, similar to OpenAI’s Operator. The MCP Server can do amazing things—Claude can find information on websites like Stack Overflow, while Cursor can fill out forms and apply for jobs. Additionally, Windsurf can manage your Chrome in local mode. Although we initially built it for fun, we see great potential for integrating this technology into AI agents to perform complex tasks like booking appointments or downloading important documents. Check out our GitHub link for more details.
We recently had an exciting weekend experimenting with MCPs, and created a new feature for Skyvern. This feature allows advanced AI agents like Claude, Cursor, and Windsurf to control your web browser seamlessly. You can explore the technical details and code on our GitHub page.
Skyvern is designed to be an open-source AI agent that interacts intelligently with browsers. Similar to OpenAI’s Operator, Skyvern is built to respond to prompts and perform actions in your browser.
One of the key functionalities of the MCP Server is that it enables Claude to search for information on documentation sites and platforms like Stack Overflow. Imagine getting direct access to insights from top Hacker News posts without lifting a finger.
Cursor, on the other hand, can assist you with tasks like applying for jobs, filling out contact forms, or logging in to download files. This feature streamlines online activities, making your digital experience much more efficient.
Additionally, when connected to Windsurf, Skyvern can take control of your Chrome browser in local mode. This connection enhances the capabilities of your AI agent, enabling it to execute various complex tasks.
While we started this project for fun, the potential applications are vast. From booking appointments to retrieving utility statements or checking on freight shipments, the possibilities are endless.
We’re excited about the future of AI agents and how they can revolutionize our online interactions. Stay tuned for more updates on the development of Skyvern and its innovative features.
