Artificial Intelligence is becoming a major part of our daily lives, but is it a blessing or a curse? In the vibrant MiamiTech community, many believe it’s a positive development. On April 5, over 250 tech enthusiasts gathered at The LAB Miami in Wynwood to explore this topic at the Miami AI Summit.
Burhan Sebin, the vice president of growth at Atlas Space and founder of Miami AI Hub, emphasized the need for understanding AI. “People are afraid of what they don’t know. By teaching them about AI, we can help them use it productively,” he stated. The Miami AI Hub, founded nearly two years ago, aims to connect and inspire the local tech community through AI initiatives.
At the Miami AI Agent Summit, experts discussed important trends in AI technology. Clem Delangue, co-founder and CEO of Hugging Face, and Greg Isenberg, CEO of Late Checkout, highlighted the importance of trust and experimentation when it comes to AI models. “Daily, we see new models and concepts,” said Delangue. “Experiment quickly, and remember that progress matters more than perfection in AI development.”
Another enlightening discussion featured industry leaders discussing AI agents in the workplace. Panelists like Garrett Rowe and Lou Mata shared insights on how AI could enhance efficiency for businesses of all sizes. “We envision a future where every company collaborates with AI agents,” Mata said, highlighting the potential benefits of these collaborations.
Despite excitement around AI, many attendees raised concerns about the potential risks. However, Ryan Doan reassured the audience that AI is designed to assist, not replace. “Our goal is to empower people to focus on what’s important,” he explained.
To conclude the summit, a diverse group of panelists discussed how startups can thrive in an AI-driven Market. They also touched on related topics such as privacy and real-world applications of AI.
Looking ahead, Sebin hinted at an even larger summit scheduled for October 11, 2025, expecting up to 700 participants and a lineup filled with influential speakers. The goal remains clear: to position Miami as a global tech hub.
