Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has announced a significant initiative to inspect and repair damaged roads across the city. This comes just two days after Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal urged her to take action on the deteriorating road conditions. During a recent meeting convened to address this pressing issue, Atishi stated that all ministers of the Delhi government will begin road inspections starting tomorrow.
“I will also hit the streets myself to assess the conditions, especially in South and South West Delhi,” she remarked. Other ministers will cover designated areas, including East, North East, West, and North West Delhi, accompanied by Chief Engineers from the Public Works Department (PWD).
The chief minister emphasized the seriousness of the situation, pointing out that many roads have suffered severe damage due to recent rains, creating hazardous potholes. She acknowledged public concerns over the state of the roads and committed to having all repairs completed by October.
In parallel with Atishi’s efforts, Kejriwal emphasized that the repairs will commence on a “war footing” after a thorough assessment of the city’s roads. He has pledged to work closely with local MLAs to ensure that these issues are addressed swiftly to alleviate the difficulties faced by residents.
With this proactive approach, the Delhi government aims to improve road safety and provide a smoother commute for all citizens.
