Arvind Kejriwal, the former chief minister of Delhi, has been moved from seat number 1 to seat 41 in the Legislative Assembly after his resignation. The new chief minister, Atishi, now occupies seat number 1, while former deputy CM Manish Sisodia has been assigned seat 40. Saurabh Bharadwaj, who has the most portfolios after Atishi, takes seat 2, moving from his previous seat 8. The seating changes also affected other ministers, including Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot and newly-inducted Mukesh Ahlawat. Speaker Ram Niwas Goel explained that the seating arrangement is flexible, with ministers sitting in the front row based on seniority, emphasizing that Kejriwal and Sisodia were assigned their new seats to avoid the appearance of continuity in their previous roles.

Title: New Seating Arrangements for Delhi Assembly After Kejriwal’s Resignation

In a recent shake-up in the Delhi Legislative Assembly, former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who had occupied seat number 1 for the past decade, has been moved to seat 41. This change follows his resignation as CM, making way for the newly appointed Chief Minister, Atishi, who now takes the prestigious first seat.

Alongside Kejriwal, former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has been reassigned from seat 2 to seat 40, although both their new positions remain in the first row, right next to the Speaker. With the change in leadership, Saurabh Bharadwaj, who holds multiple portfolios, has been assigned seat number 2 after previously sitting at number 8.

Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot has also been given a new seat, moving from 2 to 8. Additionally, newly appointed Minister Mukesh Ahlawat will now occupy seat 14. Other ministers, including Vinay Mishra and Ajay Mahawar, have also seen changes in their seating assignments.

Leader of the Opposition, Vijender Gupta, expressed concern over the seating arrangements, pointing out that assigning seat numbers 40 and 41 to Kejriwal and Sisodia might give the impression of continued prominence, despite their resignation from the top positions.

Speaker Ram Niwas Goel clarified that seating arrangements are flexible, emphasizing that they are organized by seniority, with ministers taking the front rows. He also stated that the ruling party occupies the right side of the Speaker, while the opposition takes the left.

This development in the Assembly highlights the ongoing political dynamics in Delhi as new leadership takes shape.
