Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is set to vacate his official residence within a week, as confirmed by AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on September 18, 2024. Following his recent resignation, Kejriwal plans to relinquish all benefits associated with his role, including security, choosing instead to live as an ordinary citizen. During a press conference, Singh mentioned that Kejriwal had faced past threats to his safety but remains undeterred, stating, “I have lived in jail for six months, God saved me then, God will save me now.” The new Delhi Chief Minister, Atishi, will succeed him, although Kejriwal’s future residence has yet to be determined.

Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced that he will vacate his official residence within a week, according to AAP MP Sanjay Singh. This decision follows Kejriwal’s resignation on September 17, 2024, during a visit to the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat, where he formally stepped down and pledged his support for Atishi as the new leader of the Delhi government.

At a recent press conference, Singh shared that Kejriwal is also giving up all the benefits that come with being Chief Minister, including his security detail. Kejriwal expressed a strong desire to live as a common man among the people, despite concerns for his safety. “I have lived in jail for six months; God saved me then, and I trust He will save me now,” he stated.

While Singh mentioned that discussions are ongoing regarding Kejriwal’s new living arrangements, it remains uncertain where he will reside next. Kejriwal’s decision has sparked conversations about leadership changes within AAP and the future of governance in Delhi.

As a significant political shift occurs in the capital, many are watching to see how Atishi will lead the newly formed government and what changes may come next.
