Adani Ports Expands Operations with New Berth at Deendayal Port

In a significant move for India’s logistics sector, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has signed a concession agreement to develop Berth No. 13 at Deendayal Port in Kandla, Gujarat. This berth, measuring 300 meters in length, is designed to handle multipurpose cargo and is anticipated to be operational by the fiscal year 2027.

The newly formed subsidiary, DPA Container and Clean Cargo Terminal Limited (DPACCCTL), will oversee the operations at this berth. APSEZ aims to enhance its service offerings by incorporating clean cargo, including container cargo, in addition to the dry bulk cargo they currently manage.

This development follows the receipt of a Letter of Intent in July 2024, granting APSEZ a 30-year concession for constructing, operating, and maintaining the berth under the Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Transfer (DBFOT) model. With an annual capacity of 5.7 million metric tons, Berth No. 13 will help consolidate APSEZ’s strategic presence along the western coast and improve service capabilities for customers in Gujarat and northern India.

APSEZ continues to lead as India’s largest port developer and operator, managing 15 strategically located ports across both the east and west coasts. This latest project reinforces the company’s commitment to expanding its logistics capabilities and supporting economic growth in the region.
