THDC India has partnered with the Maharashtra government to develop six pumped hydro power storage projects, totaling 6,790 MW, with an investment of over Rs 33,600 crore. This agreement aims to streamline the process for project surveys, investigations, and the preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), ensuring compliance with central and state regulations. The six proposed projects include the Malshej Ghat (700 MW), Aruna (1,950 MW), Kharari (1,250 MW), Humbarli Birmani (1,000 MW), Aruna Kolamb (1,200 MW), and Morawadi Majarewadi (690 MW). The Maharashtra government will assist in water allocation necessary for these projects, while THDC commits to preparing and submitting DPRs for approval to the corresponding authorities.

THDC India has recently made headlines by signing an important agreement with the Maharashtra government. This pact focuses on the development of six pumped hydro power storage projects (PSPs) with a total capacity of 6,790 MW. The investment for these projects is expected to exceed Rs 33,600 crore.

The collaboration aims to streamline the processes necessary for launching these significant energy initiatives. It involves conducting surveys, investigations, and preparing Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for each project, ensuring that they adhere to both central and state regulations.

The six PSPs included in this memorandum of understanding are the Malshej Ghat Pumped Storage Project (700 MW), Aruna Pumped Storage Project (1,950 MW), Kharari Pumped Storage Project (1,250 MW), Humbarli Birmani Pumped Storage Project (1,000 MW), Aruna Kolamb Pumped Storage Project (1,200 MW), and Morawadi Majarewadi Pumped Storage Project (690 MW).

As part of this initiative, the Maharashtra government will assist in securing water allocation required for these projects. In return, THDC India will be responsible for preparing and submitting the necessary plans for governmental approval.

This ambitious project is a significant step towards enhancing renewable energy resources in India, promoting cleaner energy production and sustainability.
